Education and Training

The Fish Seed Production Unit and Fish Farm provide hands-on training in fish breeding, seed production, and hatchery management. Students gain practical skills in nursery management, larval rearing, and stocking. Workshops and training are offered to farmers and entrepreneurs, promoting scientific aquaculture practices. In-plant training and internships provide field exposure, including shrimp culture. The department also conducts extension programs to offer technical guidance and support sustainable fish farming.

Research at the Fish Seed Production Unit and Fish Farm focuses on optimizing breeding techniques, broodstock management, and hatchery conditions to improve seed production. Studies also target economically important species like IMC and ornamental fish for enhanced growth. The department investigates the effects of synthetic hormone on eggs fertilization and seed production. It also supports PhD research on areas like seed conditioning aspects.
